About us

Barcelona NMR is a scientific consultancy specialised in performing contract research and supplying analysis services to support Chemical Biology, Pharmaceutical and Biomedical research for groups and companies.

We are a research group interested in deciphering the mechanisms that correlate cell signaling with gene expression. We also aim at discovering how these mechanisms are regulated, and their consequent implications in human diseases using high resolution structural (NMR and X-ray) and computational biology.

As Barcelona NMR, we provide 1D, 2D and 3D NMR data acquisition and interpretation, including product batch validation and impurity profiling services. We are specialized in NMR methods and techniques. We can analyze molecules and mixtures in solution, detecting proton, carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus resonances.

Services

We offer the following scientific support services.

Validation of compounds

Using NMR we confirm the formula of a given molecule and the presence or absence of impurities in the sample.

Chemical shift analysis

NMR data assignment (chemical shifts and NOEs) of small molecules, peptides and proteins.

Chemometrics

We can compare two products or formulations for sameness using NMR-based chemometrics.

Binding assays

Using NMR and/or ITC techniques we can study the interaction of two molecules in solution and quantify the affinity.

Structural elucidation of molecules and peptides

NMR-based structure of peptides and proteins in solution.

Hit validation in drug discovery

NMR spectroscopy can help validate hits obtained in high throughput screening of protein binders.

Metabolomics

Chemical shift changes in the metabolic composition of cells treated under different conditions.

Stability Assays

Thermal stability to monitor enzymes, fusion proteins, monoclonal antibodies in buffers, plasma and other conditions.


Equipment


NMR

Our laboratory is equipped with a state-of-the-art 600MHz NMR spectrometer (Bruker Advance III), fitted with a 1H, 13C, 15N, and 31P quadruple channel cryoprobe. We can measure experiments with only 160μl of sample at low micromolar concentration.

nano ITC

Isothermal Calorimetry is a technique that allows the determination of binding constants using small sample quantities in a quick and reliable manner.

Thermal shift assay

This technique quantifies the thermal denaturation of proteins under different conditions.
